The beautiful mountains of Sibillini and della Laga are located within an hours drive with a series of national parks, hiking trails and grand vistas.  One can climb to the top of Mt. Sibilla or Vettore and see much of the Marche as well as Umbria and Abruzzo and an incredible plateau famous for growing lentels.  Here, old traditions are still observed with rearing of sheep, cheesemaking and meat curing.
Castelluccio rises out of the plateau and is quite picturesque.  Other towns worth a visit include Montegallo and Montemonaco, Visso and Norcia which is perhaps the most famous with its many artisanal producers of everything from cheese to cured meat and chocolate.
